Once upon a time many years ago, a family that immigrated from a faraway place called the Dragon of the East to a paradise called the Switzerland of Central America. When dad called him General Hon Hon General being his name and he as a general being very strict with his 4 daughters. He was stocky and determined, an engineer and philosopher of passion. Upon arrival, the engineer could not practice their profession. Then used his analytical skills to build his wife a Chinese restaurant in the heart of this country.
Tin Jo Restaurant ("The Best" in Cantonese) opened in 1972 with 12 tables.
Most of his daughters, Mary (Yin Yin was his name, but changed to be more policy) was 12 and was designated the cashier in the evenings and kitchen helper at night. He loved chicken bone and peel carrots. Hesitated to saloneras, competed with cooks.
The smells, sights and sounds of this place were saturated in blood. Many years later, after his studies in New York and Los Angeles, after its corporate life in Boston, after traveling around Asia and living in Thailand, the 33-year return to this paradise to retake the same smells, colors and sounds.
Together with her husband, Robert, took command of Tin Jo in 1994. They were gradually expanding both menu and to the halls, joined the countries they visited in Asia:
China, India, Indonesia, Japan, and Thailand.
The Tin Jo today is the expression of a smooth evolution from the days of General Hon what it is today: a
place where guests feel chineados seize your senses while other worlds.
